Q4) What should I know about trailer height and width?
Trailer height is determined two ways. First, interior
height is determined by measuring from floor to the interior roof. Second,
overall height is determined by measuring the trailer from it's highest point to
the ground.
Width is determined by measuring both inside and outside of the
trailer. An example is a slant load trailer that is said to measure
80" wide or a straight load trailer that is said to measure six feet
wide. When measured on the outside, the 80" wide slant load is in
fact 80" on the outside, but the inside measurement is only 78".
The same is generally true of the straight load trailer - it will be 2"
less in width than the outside of the trailer.
It is important to measure both inside and outside of the
trailer for accurate height and width dimensions.
