Frequently Asked Questions

Jockey Silks

Q8) How many sets of silks do I need?

The number of sets of silks needed depends on how many horses you have and to how many tracks you ship. As an owner, you usually have a program in mind and your horses run under similar conditions. That means you could easily have two horses in the same race, requiring two sets of silks. Another reason for multiple sets is running horses on the same card - the silks are washed after each use and may not be ready in time for the next race.

Even if you only race one horse, you'll probably want two sets. One is for the jocks room and one is for travel, stakes races or merely as a backup.
