Thoroughbreds for Performance: Recycling the Ex-Racehorse
Most Thoroughbred racehorses are unsuccessful or only briefly successful at the track. Many of these horses can be retrained into performance horses in a variety of different equestrian disciplines including
Eventing, hunting and dressage. The ultimate racing machine can also be the ultimate sporthorse.
Holistic Horsemanship®: A way of training; a way of thinking.
Holistic Horsemanship® is a system of training and communicating with horses that takes into account every aspect of a horse's environment, from nutrition, shoeing and exercise to tack fitting, training methods and the owner's riding style. Encompassing all breeds and disciplines, Holistic Horsemanship® offers riders an opportunity to improve the communication and trust they share with their horses.
Risk Reduction: Safety in Horse and Stable Management; Safety in Riding
There are too many accidents at riding and training stables. Many of these accidents are entirely preventable: the key to prevention lies in a combination of physical safety measures and good safety education for riders and stable staff. Many effective safety practices require no more than information, attention and a small investment of time.
Developing Better Communication with Your Horse
Riders and trainers who understand the basic nature of the horse can create an optimum training environment, and can use their knowledge of horse nature and psychology to make the training process more effective and more enduring. Knowledge of horse basics - nature, communication and body language - enables humans to work with horses in maximum safety and mutual confidence.
Riding for the Rest of Us
Women in the middle years, make up a large portion of the horse owners and riders in the USA. Whether you are taking up riding for the first time, you are considering returning to the sport after years away, or you have never stopped riding since childhood, there are things you will need to know. Safety equipment, legal
liability, and the costs of owning a horse are constantly changing as are styles of riding clothes and styles of riding. Many riders have medical conditions or physical difficulties to deal with, as well as constraints on their time and money, and want to be well-informed so as to make wise decisions and get the maximum enjoyment from their horses and their sport.
