Sports Medicine for the Racehorse, Veterinary Data Publishing
Background: After graduating from veterinary school at Colorado State University, Dr. Jones practiced in Wyoming and Colorado for 6 years. He then returned to college and earned a Masters degree in zoology, in preparation for college teaching. During the next six years he taught at three colleges, the latest being the Veterinary College at Michigan State University. During this period he earned a PhD degree in animal genetics at Oregon State University. His interest in genetics and horse breeding grew out of years of raising horses, first Quarter Horses, and then Arabians and Appaloosas. He has conducted research in coat coloring of horses and written many articles on the topic. For the past 18 years he has been the author and publisher of Equine Veterinary Data, a newsletter for equine veterinarians, and The Journal of Equine Veterinary Science

Last year he organized The International Association of Equine Practitioners and created a web site to serve the educational needs of horse people and horse doctors.
